Challenge Rules

Deadline for entries will be the 21st of each month. Voting will then proceed until the end of the month for the community challenge.

There are no restrictions on category, subcategory, or image size so long as your entry fits all rules set down by deviantArt staff for photography.

All entries are submitted at this time through notes, as links to the deviations. A warning should be given in the note itself if the deviation contains nudity, graphic violence, blood or gore.

You may only submit one entry per challenge. You are allowed to enter any image that fits the theme, no matter when you uploaded it.

You are allowed to enter your own manipulated photos, but the original photo must be yours. Editing someone else's photography or stock photos for your entries is not allowed in this group, and if discovered you will be ineligible to enter any contests for 6 months.

The winning entry and deviant will be featured in the journal's shoutboard for the following month.

This is a "community". A community of photographers, who wish to be challenged monthly in both ideas and technique, a place for us to help and support one another, and cheer one another on. In community spirit, this is what I wish to see from our members.

Visit every new member's gallery and comment on their featured photograph (or at least one of your choice).

Visits to each other's galleries. Well thought out comments, as we establish relationships with one another.

Comments on every submission that is given for the challenges. When you comment on a camerawhore member's piece, you could end your comment with something like "Found you through *camerawhore" or "From a fellow *camerawhore"

Welcome New Members



Let's make our new members feel welcome by giving them a visit to their galleries and commenting on at least ONE piece of work!

How-To Articles

The first "how to" article has been submitted, on "Photographing Landscapes."

Disclaimer: Please be aware that this is not meant to be an all inclusive, technical tutorial, it is merely supposed to be a helpful article to give our photographers tips, tricks and basic knowledge concerning our current challengs. Often I'll favorite something at :devphotoclass: if it has something to do with a current challenge, as their tutorials are far better than anything I can hope to accomplish. Why invent the wheel, when a perfectly wonderful one already exists?

Joining Camera Whores

If you wish to join the group, please send me a note to *camerawhore, labeled "Joining" in the subject line. A link to ONE photo in your gallery must be included.

Rules for Joining

Your gallery must have at least 5 photographs in it that you have taken. A link to at least one of them must be included in the joining note, if it is not, then your request will be disregarded.

However, no nude photos are to be sent to me unless that is the only type of photos you take! And you must warn me if they are nude!

Once you have joined, please put the Camera Whore name into either your signature, or within your journal, so that we can get the word out to others.

Once you have been accepted into the club, please add the club account to your deviantWatch.
